How do I get e-mails from a previous contact who is no longer on my e-mail list?

Question by honeybdee2003: How do I get e-mails from a previous contact who is no longer on my e-mail list?
I have been getting notified that I have a new e-mail from a previous friend. I no longer have them as a contact in my email list, however would still like to receive this email. However, when I go to my email the email from this person is not there. How can I retrieve it. This email address was not blocked.
